type this, congress is voting on universal healthcare and to say the least, I hope to God this 1,990 (roughly) page bill does not pass and become a law. If it were to pass, it would be the worst possible thing to happen to America right now. If it were to pass, 1/6 of our economy would be dictated…
Eventually what it comes down to is, what do you want your tax dollars to be spent towards? Funding a never-ending war or providing health care for your fellow citizens? Health insurance rates are sky rocketing, even those with steady jobs can hardly afford to pay for it & something has to change. The less fortunate shouldn’t be denied the same basic rights that those who are better off have.
I believe that tax dollars should be spent on eliminating America’s trillion dollars of debt to other countries and towards education and actually, anything else but universal healthcare. Do you think it’s alright to abort an unborn baby? I certainly hope not.
And I have never met a single person who was denied healthcare, because I’m rich and white. The ER is open to all, 24/7. Secondly, it is already hard enough for people on medicaid to see a doctor and if the bill passes, 15 million more people will be added, making it EVEN HARDER for them to see a doctor.
If my tax dollars have to go towards funding two illegal wars that your side supports and forced upon us, then your tax dollars should be funding abortions.
I’m a little curious about who cares about our national debt. It seems like we owe money around the world, but that dosn’t really stop us from using our money the exact same way. At some point is there going to be a G-8 summit that forces Obama to write checks to every country we owe money to? The way I see it, our money is backed by nothing. But we don’t act like our little green papers are worthless. So why start now?
Yeah, the money should go to education too. But who are we going to educate when all the kids are dead from lack of healthcare?
To be fair there is an equal worry that we wont have anybody to educate when all the children have been aborted, but thats a different argument.
